Police drug scandal in Germany

The German authorities say they have uncovered a drug-trafficking ring
among members of the border police stationed in the city of Frankfurt am

Officials say the investigation covers twenty-five officers based at the
city's international airport and central railway station.

At least three have been arrested and eight suspended. The head of the
border police, Joerg-Dietrich Hasslinger, said it was the largest such
scandal he'd heard of involving his force. Investigators allege that the
young officers involved used ecstacy, LSD and hashish themselves as well
as supplying the drugs to others.
