5201/5305 not recognising new drum: reset drum counter (page 32 of manual) - hold down exposure button, turn machine on (all lights will flash except ready indicator), release and then press and hold the exposure button until all three exposure indicators light - approx. 10 seconds (the centre exposure indicator will stay lit and the others will go out and the ready indicator will light), done - counter is now reset. If this process fails, make sure they are holding the exposure button, not anything else!
5220 drum problems: drums in this machine are not user servicable - engineer call
XC copy count: hold down C button (cancel) until LED flashes three numbers - this builds a six-digit number which is the copy count

7022E serial numbers: ten digits (usually starting with 05MA6). Drop the first six digits, add five zeros to the front, and one zero to the back. eg., 05MA605932 becomes 0000059320

7089 not working with external answering machine: this configuration is not supported (the manual is wrong). The 7088 supports an external answering machine; 7089 users *must* use the internal answering machine if they want answering machine functionality.
7090 job cancellation: press Program, H, 1, Mode/Enter, Contrast/Cancel, Contrast/Cancel to abort transmission and return the machine to a ready state
Pro xxx comm error - retry: this message remains displayed long after the fault is sorted (for the benefit of users who might want to know there has been a fault). Press Stop to clear it.
