CHECHNYA: Russian forces have realised that co-operation is superior to obliteration, and have decided to sit back and wait for the Chechen people to develop their economy into a Russian trading partner. At this time, the Russians will be able to place whatever terms they like upon the Chechens, and if the Chechens don't like the terms then they will be free to trade elsewhere. Of course, peace has given both sides the chance to build upon their assets, rather then blowing them up.

CUBA: American forces have realised that co-operation is superior to intervention, and have decided to sit back and wait for the Cuban people to develop their economy into an American trading partner. At this time, the Americans will be able to place whatever terms they like upon the Cubans, and if the Cubans don't like the terms then they will be free to trade elsewhere. Of course, the lifting of the trade embargo has empowered the Cuban people to move their country toward democracy, and shifted the focus of the "big aggressor" from US leaders to their own leaders.

TAIWAN: Chinese forces have realised that co-operation is superior to intimidation, and have decided to sit back and wait for the Taiwanese people to develop their economy into a Chinese trading partner. At this time, the Chinese will be able to place whatever terms they like upon the Taiwanese, and if the Taiwanese don't like the terms then they will be free to trade elsewhere. Of course, the easing of stand-over tactics meant that the Chinese were better regarded in the international community, as they were no longer posturing bullies with big toys and small minds.

MIDDLE EAST: Religious fanatics everywhere have realised that religion is slavery and they have all been pawns of the Great One for thousands of years. Doh! This grand awakening has allowed them to see each other as friends, their enemies suddenly polarising into religious leaders and political figures that use religion as a tool to manipulate, exploit and suppress their people.

WORLD: People have realised that they have the power to change the world in which they live. The people's role is to get informed, to choose a side and to speak up, actively support what they believe in and actively oppose that which they don't. Of course, the role of those in power then becomes to facilitate learning, pluralism and communication.

WEATHER: Clearing, with sunny spells; fine and mild on the weekend.
